The Idaho Resilience Project is committed to sharing and supporting evidence-based strategies for prevention and intervention. IRP sponsors and promotes professional mental health and trauma-informed training opportunities, develops resources for Idaho communities, and provides facilitation support that prioritizes capacity building for partners and communities around state.

The Idaho Resilience Project, in partnership with Optum Idaho, has curated a resource for parents, caregivers, and adults in Idaho to support youth throughout the state. Supporting Youth Mental Health: A Guide for Adults includes real-time resources for adults to use right now at home, in schools, and throughout your community. It includes conversation starters to use with teens, mental health supports you can access right now in your community, and tips for better supporting Idaho’s youth.

Youth Mental Health Animation Series

Hope Lives Here Training Guide

The Hope Lives Here Training Guide was created in partnership with Optum Idaho to educate youth and caregivers (parents, teachers, and guardians) regarding resiliency. The guide includes information, skills, and resources to build resiliency in Idaho. These guides are a great resource to have available in schools, libraries, behavioral health facilities, and in homes.


Free Mental Health First Aid training through Optum Idaho

In partnership with Optum Idaho, the Idaho Resilience Project is promoting Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) training opportunities across the state. It is a skills-based training course that teaches participants to identify, understand, and respond to mental health and substance use challenges. Optum Idaho pays for all class registration, training materials, and training for any adult Idahoan who wants to be certified in knowing how to professionally support an individual experiencing a mental health or substance use disorder crisis in their community.


Hope Notes

We can all use more hope and kindness. Print these Hope Notes and blanket our community with support. Join the fun by letting someone know they matter and make this world a better place by simply leaving them a Hope Note.

The Idaho Resilience Project has been partnering with local communities to create the following video resources.

Resilient Idaho: Hope Lives Here looks into the ACEs research and how ACEs affect people here in Idaho. Most importantly, the film explores resilience, which could be considered an antidote to ACEs.
